Victory Pushes Black Knights Record to 36-26
|
The Brooklyn Black Knights got a strong performance from pitcher Jesús Díaz, who stymied the Las Vegas offense en route to a 9-2 win at Blue Ivy Stadium. Díaz, the winner, moves to 6-2. He threw 7.1 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 10 and giving up 1 walk. The Black Knights bumped their record to 36-26 with this latest triumph.
The Black Knights got a big at-bat from center fielder David Ramírez. For the game, Ramírez was 1 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the second, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 5th home run of the season gave Brooklyn a 3-0 lead.
"It was a solid team effort and we'll try to keep this momentum going," Ramírez told reporters after the game.
