Billy Mathews Field was the site of an exciting ballgame between the Atlantic City Kings and the St. Petersburg Pelicans.

St. Petersburg got a terrific performance from second baseman Kennie Moody, but it wasn't enough to beat the Atlantic City Kings. Atlantic City won the Billy Mathews Field contest, 9-8. Moody was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He went 3 for 5 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3. Atlantic City reliever Francisco Rodríguez picked up the win, upping his record to 7-5. Kelly Livingston took the loss.

The Kings got a big at-bat from catcher Simon Watkins. For the game, Watkins went 1 for 4 with a walk. He drove in 2 runs. In the top of the ninth, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 45th hit of the season gave Atlantic City a 9-8 lead.

"I still think this team has room for improvement," Watkins told the Atlantic City Observer.

The first-place Kings, at 96-56, now lead their division by 19 games.
