Kingwood right fielder Manny de la Cruz made his presence felt in the 5-3 Knights triumph over the Chippewa River Chiefs. de la Cruz went 2-4 with a home run, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. Dylan Thompkins notched his 25th save in 29 chances. Kingwood is now 74-76, while Chippewa is 102-49.
de la Cruz had a big at-bat with a runner on 1st in the bottom of the eighth inning, when he hit a single. The Knights went on to win.
"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," de la Cruz told the Kingwood Daily.
