Gnats Walk It Off for 54th Win of Season
|
The Nichols Gnats electrified The Pond with a thrilling, walk-off win.
The Nichols Gnats topped the Boise Bloodhounds, 3-2, in Lyman Bostock League action at The Pond. The player of the game was Nichols pitcher and San Clemente, California native Jon Vining. Nichols reliever Suzunosuke Date was the winner. His record is now 6-3. Justin Bolling took the loss.
Rodrigo Perez was the walk-off hero for Nichols. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Gnats catcher hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Vining told the Nichols Herald.
Boise, at 59-93, has lost 4 straight.
