|
Dallas beat Rubber City on the strength of starter John Holmes's fine effort. The right-hander led his team to a 8-3 win. Holmes, the winner, moves to 3-4. He threw 5.1 innings of 2-hit ball, while fanning 3 and giving up 2 walks. Adrien Clément saved it for Dallas.
The Texans got a big at-bat from second baseman Juan Calderon. For the game, Calderon was 1-1 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the second, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 6th home run of the season gave Dallas a 2-0 lead.
"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Calderon. "And not try to do too much."
The Texans bumped their record to 34-29 with this latest triumph.
