Coney Island pitcher Francisco Trevino gave the River Chiefs all they could handle, but in the end, Chippewa left The Reservation with a 6-4 win. Trevino allowed no earned runs on 3 hits over 5.1 innings. The River Chiefs, at 100-47, have a comfortable 22-game lead in their division.

Had Victor Silva not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Silva hit a 2-run single. That made the score 6-4, in favor of the River Chiefs.

"We took advantage of our opportunities," Silva told the Chippewa Citizen. "It's as simple as that."
