Frosties Win at Tree City, 3-1
|
Barrow right-hander Fidel Betancourt pitched his team to victory over the Tree City Black Squirrels at The Nut House. The final score was 3-1. Betancourt, now 3-2, was the winner. In 6.1 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 7, walking 2, and allowing 1 earned run. Tom Best earned his 7th save in 9 chances.
Curtis Forsyth aided the Barrow cause with a run-scoring single in the top of the fifth. For the game, the shortstop went 2 for 3 with 2 singles and was hit by a pitch.
"It takes a lot of things to win a ballgame," said Barrow manager Evan Warner. "It's usually not just one thing."
The Frosties bumped their record to 75-73 with this latest triumph.
