The Bethesda Hornets defeated the St. Petersburg Pelicans, 5-3, at Billy Mathews Field. Bethesda first baseman Foster Miller was named player of the game for his superb performance. He was 4 for 5 with 4 singles. The Hornets move to 65-82 with the win, while the Pelicans drop to 54-93.

Mario Yescas, who is tied for 9th in the DML in extra base hits with 40, aided the Bethesda cause with a 3-run home run in the top of the fifth. For the game, the right fielder was 1 for 5 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once.

"The clubhouse can get insufferable after we lose, so I'm glad we pulled this one out today," Yescas told the Bethesda Chronicle.
