Bush Wackers Fall Short at Eugene
The Eugene Emeralds defeated the Brisbane Bush Wackers, 6-5. Earning player of the game honors was second baseman Vinnie Errichiello, who went 1-2 with a home run and 2 walks. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. The Emeralds bumped their record to 76-69 with this latest triumph.

The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when Eugene catcher Victor Chapa, facing Billy Boyd, had a run-scoring ground out. It gave the Emeralds the 6-5 win.

"I'm not out there for personal accomplishments," Chapa told a Eugene Observer reporter after the game. "I'm out there to help the team win, and that's what we did today."
