Victory Over Panthers Takes Atlantic City to 86-52
|
Atlantic City center fielder Paul Weingarten made his presence felt in the 6-3 Kings triumph over the Charleston Panthers. Weingarten was 3 for 3 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. Atlantic City reliever Jose Vasquez picked up the win, upping his record to 10-2. Greg Martin took the loss. The Panthers, at 60-81, have lost 4 in a row.
A crucial at-bat came with a runner on 1st and no one out in the top of the seventh inning. That's when first baseman Héctor García, who is tied for 10th in the DML in RBI with 66, hit a double. The Kings went on to win.
"We'll pop the top on a cold one and get back to work tomorrow," García said.
