Pelicans Raise Rally Flag, Beat Chippewa, 10-8
St. Petersburg withstood an impressive performance by Chippewa right fielder Tommy Wilson to defeat the River Chiefs, 10-8, at The Reservation. Wilson went 3 for 5 with a home run and a double. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. St. Petersburg reliever Julio Uribe picked up the win, upping his record to 4-4. Anastasio Gómez took the loss. The last-place Pelicans now have a win-loss record of 51-90.

The Pelicans got a big at-bat from center fielder Sam Henderson. For the game, Henderson went 1-5 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. In the top of the ninth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 9th home run of the season gave St. Petersburg a 10-7 lead.

"We'll pop the top on a cold one and get back to work tomorrow," Henderson said.
