Victory Over Black Squirrels Takes San Angelo to 91-49
|
The San Angelo Mustangs topped the Tree City Black Squirrels, 8-2, in Lyman Bostock League action at Heartland Kettlecorn Stadium. The player of the game was San Angelo pitcher Garth Bankston. Chris Shaw converted his 3rd save in 3 tries. San Angelo has a 5-game win streak, while Tree City has lost 3 in a row.
A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. In the bottom of the fifth, with the game tied, Vince Fest was at the plate when San Angelo scored 1 on an error. The miscue enabled the Mustangs to go in front, 2-1.
"We'll pop the top on a cold one and get back to work tomorrow," Bankston said.
