The Atlantic City Kings beat the Houston Sting, 3-1, at The Royal Colosseum. The Kings got a fine performance from designated hitter Jose Arriola, who captured player of the game honors. He went 2-3 with 2 singles and a walk, while adding 2 RBI. Atlantic City reliever Pat Hebert picked up the win, upping his record to 12-0. Máximo Ángel took the loss. Atlantic City improves to 83-52 with the win. They lead their division by 12½ games.
Arriola had a big at-bat with runners on 1st and 2nd in the bottom of the sixth inning, when he hit a run-scoring single. The Kings went on to win.
"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said Atlantic City manager Wynn Decker.
