Tommie Parsons helped his team muscle past the Coney Island Cyclones, 7-5. In the game, the Winfield third baseman was 3-3 with 3 singles and a walk. Ruben Bautista, credited with the win, is now 6-10. He allowed 5 runs on 11 hits in 7.2 innings. The third-place Warriors now have a 4-game winning streak.
Early in the game, second baseman Mark Holliday had a 3-run home run for Winfield. It was his 1st home run of the season and put the Warriors on top, 4-2.
"It wasn't our best performance," said Holliday, "but a win in this league is nothing to sniff at."
