Jedi Knights Edge Past Kings, 2-1
|
Dennis Hale never let the Kings get in a groove. The right-hander used his bread and butter, his slider, to pitch the Jedi Knights to a 2-1 win. The Jedi Knights bumped their record to 76-57 with this latest triumph.
The Jedi Knights got a big at-bat from center fielder Mike Burd. For the game, Burd was 1-2. In the top of the ninth, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 12th hit of the season gave New Orleans a 2-1 lead.
"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Burd told the New Orleans Daily News.
