|
Bel Air left-hander J.G. Richard made an effective start against the Victoria Vikings at Philip Banks Field, leading his team to a 2-1 win. In 6 innings, Richard surrendered 3 hits, while striking out 7 and walking 4. He allowed 1 run. Toru Saito was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 25 of 26 save opportunities.
Felix Cruz, who is tied for 10th in the DML in triples with 5, aided the Bel Air cause with a run-scoring single in the bottom of the fourth. For the game, the second baseman was 1-3.
"Both teams played hard," said Bel Air manager Leland Austin.
The first-place Princes, at 78-54, now lead their division by 3½ games.
