Emeralds Get Close Win Over Mustangs
San Angelo wasted a solid 9-inning effort from starting pitcher Sam Young, losing to Eugene, 2-1, at Heartland Kettlecorn Stadium. The Emeralds bumped their record to 66-63 with this latest triumph.

Had Travis O'Leary not delivered a key base hit in the top of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, O'Leary hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 2-1, in favor of the Emeralds.

"It feels good to get this one," O'Leary told the Eugene Observer.
