Pelicans Win at St. Paul, 4-2
|
St. Petersburg left fielder Dave Proctor was a significant contributor in his team's 4-2 triumph over the St. Paul Saints. He went 2 for 5 with a home run and a triple, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3 for St. Petersburg. Kelly Livingston, credited with the save, is now 13 for 21 in save opportunities. Even with the win, the Pelicans have a dismal 45-85 record.
Proctor had a game-changing home run in the top of the seventh. On a 2-2 fastball from Danny Mendez, he banged a 2-run home run to right, giving the Pelicans a 4-2 lead. It was the 3rd home run of the year for Proctor.
"Winning the game is always the first objective," Proctor said.
