Victoria beat Brisbane at The drakkar, eking out a 4-3 win. The win was due in large part to pitcher Eric Stark, who earned player of the game honors. Victoria reliever Bill Kunkel was the winner. His record is now 2-1. Bob Chamberlain took the loss. Victoria, at 53-76, occupies 4th place in the Lyman Bostock League Earl Weaver Division.
Carlos Avendano, who is tied for 8th in the LBL in bases on balls with 61, helped out the Victoria cause in the bottom of the ninth inning with a run-scoring walk. For the game, the right fielder went 1 for 4 with a walk.
After the game, Victoria manager Bernardo Moreno applauded the team's effort. "They busted their tails out there," he said.
