Evans Hits 2 home runs in Saints Win
|
St. Paul third baseman Phil Evans had 3 ribbies while helping his team defeat the St. Petersburg Pelicans, 4-3. St. Paul reliever Raul Fuentes picked up the win, upping his record to 1-1. Julio Uribe absorbed the loss. At 61-67, St. Paul is in 5th place in the Lyman Bostock League Dick Williams Division.
Evans had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the eighth. On a full count fastball from Julio Uribe, he banged a 2-run home run to right-center, giving the Saints a 4-2 lead. It was the 10th home run of the year for Evans.
"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Evans said after the game.
