Knights Walk Off with Win
|
The St. Paul Saints got a sterling performance from pitcher Teagan Cooper, but the Knights still prevailed, 5-4. Cooper was named the player of the game in a losing cause. He threw 6 innings of 5-hit ball. The Knights bumped their record to 65-60 with this latest triumph.
Late-game drama came in the bottom of the tenth inning. With one out and a runner on 1st, the batter, Mike Carney, hit a single. It helped Kingwood seize the win.
"Our team showed some spunk," said Carney.
