Young Sensational for Mustangs
|
The San Angelo Mustangs topped the Nichols Gnats, 12-1. Sam Young, who is tied for 9th in the LBL with a 3 complete games, was named player of the game for his dominant performance. Nichols is still trying to get off the schneid, having lost 6 in a row.
Young, who leaned on his fastball, allowed 1 run on just 3 hits over 9 innings for the Mustangs. For the most part, Nichols hitters were simply overmatched.
"I had a good game plan," said Young. "I made my pitches." His manager concurred. "It was all there," Clyde Bowman said, "the velocity, the sharpness of his pitches."
