Sting Drop Black Squirrels with Late Score
|
Felipe Gallegos was instrumental in his team's 5-3 triumph over the Tree City Black Squirrels. The catcher went 2-4 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once for the Houston Sting. The win was credited to Jesse Spence in relief. His record improves to 4-0. Zach Faulkner took the loss. Sam Thomas was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 8 of 9 save opportunities.
Gallegos had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the eighth. On a 2-2 cutter from Zach Faulkner, he banged a 3-run home run to left-center, giving the Sting a 5-3 lead. It was the 10th home run of the year for Gallegos.
Gallegos told a Houston Bulletin reporter that he was "more than satisfied" with the win.
Houston now has a 3-game win streak.
