Black Squirrels Lose, 9-4, at Woodland Park
|
It was a fun time at Woodland Park, where the Tree City Black Squirrels and Houston Sting tangled.
The Houston Sting knocked off the Tree City Black Squirrels, 9-4, at Woodland Park. Josh Gibbon, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason Houston won. The first baseman went 1-4 with a home run and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Reliever Yukiyasu Kawashima picked up the win. His record improves to 3-1. Juan Bojorques took the loss.
Houston grabbed the momentum in the bottom of the fifth, when Gibbon hit a grand slam home run. His 2nd home run of the season put the Sting out in front, 8-4.
"I'm just happy to help the team win," Gibbon told the Houston Bulletin.
The Sting bumped their record to 67-55 with this latest triumph.
