The Black Squirrels had to overcome a good performance from Bethesda pitcher Javier Rodríguez to claim a 4-3 win at The Nut House. Rodríguez went 7 innings and allowed 3 earned runs. The winner was Tree City reliever Sherwin Aberin, now 2-4. The loser was Yuujin McCool. The Hornets, now 55-67, have lost 4 in a row.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the tenth inning, when Tree City first baseman Jay Liburdi, facing Yuujin McCool, had a run-scoring walk. It gave the Black Squirrels the 4-3 win.
"You get some opportunities, you better take advantage of them," said Bethesda manager Francisco Solano.
