The Kingwood Knights got a strong performance from pitcher Norbert Philips, who stymied the Charleston offense en route to a 8-2 win at Franklin Mountains Field. Philips went 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 4 hits, walked 4, and struck out 8. His record improves to 2-0. The Knights bumped their record to 61-58 with this latest triumph.
Ryan Biedermann aided the Kingwood cause with a 2-run home run in the top of the first. For the game, the catcher went 1-5 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
"I tried to mix it up, keep them off balance," said Philips.
