Frosties Lose, 3-1, at Billy Mathews Field

The St. Petersburg Pelicans topped the Barrow Frosties, 3-1, in Donnie Moore League action at Billy Mathews Field. The player of the game was St. Petersburg pitcher Victor Dominguez. Dominguez, the winner, moves to 3-5. He threw 5.1 innings of 2-hit ball, while fanning 7 and giving up 5 walks. Even with the win, the Pelicans have a dismal 40-79 record.
The Pelicans got a big at-bat from second baseman Larry Castillo. For the game, Castillo was 1 for 4. In the bottom of the second, with the bases loaded, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 42nd hit of the season gave St. Petersburg a 2-1 lead.
