Bloodhounds Fall Short at Winfield
|
Fans who gathered at The Barn saw a good contest between the Winfield Warriors and Boise Bloodhounds.
The Winfield Warriors did just enough to secure a 5-4 victory over the Boise Bloodhounds at The Barn. Nobody did more than pitcher Jose Reyes, who captured player of the game honors. Winfield reliever Ferdinand Bevan picked up the win, bumping his record to 1-0. Tom Cluff was collared with the loss. Luis Navarro was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 3 of 5 save opportunities.
A crucial at-bat came with a runner on 2nd and one out in the bottom of the eighth inning. That's when designated hitter Mark Holliday hit a single. The Warriors went on to win.
"We'll relax tonight and enjoy this win," said Holliday.
Boise's current losing streak is now 4 games.
