The Atlantic City Kings beat the St. Petersburg Pelicans, 5-4, at The Royal Colosseum. The win was largely due to the efforts of designated hitter John Phillips, who captured player of the game honors. He was 3 for 4 with a double and 2 singles, while adding 4 RBI. Atlantic City reliever Jeremy Jefferson picked up the win, upping his record to 5-5. Javy Alvarado absorbed the loss. Tom Greer was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 30 of 34 save opportunities.

Atlantic City grabbed the momentum in the bottom of the fifth, when Phillips hit a 2-run single. His 77th hit of the season put the Kings out in front, 4-2.

"I'm just happy to help the team win," Phillips told the Atlantic City Observer.
