The Kings had to overcome a fine performance from Brisbane pitcher Alexis Nunez to grab a 3-2 win at The Royal Colosseum. Nunez allowed no earned runs over 6.2 innings. Tom Greer got credit for the win, improving to 6-4. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2 innings. Atlantic City goes to 65-49. The win puts them 6½ games up in their division.
Héctor García, who is tied for 5th in the DML in home runs with 16, chipped in for Atlantic City with a solo home run in the bottom of the tenth. For the game, the designated hitter had 2 hits in 5 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 1 RBI.
Afterward, Kings manager Wynn Decker was ebullient. "That was a fun game to coach," he told a group of reporters, adding, "I hope it was just as fun to watch."
