Fujita, River Chiefs Get 4-2 Win
|
The Chippewa River Chiefs got a stellar performance from pitcher Kazue Fujita, who handcuffed the St. Paul offense en route to a 4-2 win at The Reservation. Chippewa goes to 74-39. The win puts them 8˝ games up in their division.
Fujita's performance can only be described as masterful. He notched 14 strikeouts in 9 innings while allowing 6 hits. Fujita, who is tied for 4th in the LBL in wins with 11, goes to 11-8 on the year with 190 strikeouts.
After the game, Chippewa manager Eric Rice applauded the team's effort. "They busted their tails out there," he said.
