The St. Petersburg Pelicans got a stellar performance from pitcher Alfonso Robles, who handcuffed the Taos offense en route to a 5-1 win at The Igloo. The winning pitcher was Robles, now 5-3. He tossed 6 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 5 and fanning 7. Even with the win, the Pelicans have a dismal 39-76 record.

The Pelicans got a big at-bat from center fielder Mike Brandt. For the game, Brandt was 1 for 4. In the top of the fifth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 15th hit of the season gave St. Petersburg a 2-1 lead.
