Knights Prevail, 4-2, Over Coney Island
|
Kingwood Knights starter John Rheinecker pitched a strong game against the Coney Island Cyclones at Stable Park, leading the Knights to a 4-2 win. The winning pitcher was Rheinecker, now 2-1. He tossed 5.1 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 0 and fanning 4. Domingo Rueda was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 1 of 1 save opportunities.
The Knights got a big at-bat from left fielder Earl George. For the game, George went 1 for 4 with a walk. In the bottom of the fourth, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 38th hit of the season gave Kingwood a 3-2 lead.
"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Kingwood manager Herb Good.
The Knights bumped their record to 56-55 with this latest triumph.
