Pelicans Continue Skid Thanks to Cox, Blizzard
The Taos Blizzard trumped the St. Petersburg Pelicans, 12-5, at The Igloo. Taos third baseman Tim Cox was named player of the game for his performance. He went 2-2 with a home run and 2 walks. He scored 3 runs and drove in 4. The last-place Pelicans have lost 4 straight games.

Cox contributed a big hit, a grand slam home run, for Taos in the bottom of the fourth. With his team trailing 4-2, Cox took a fastball from José Carlos Ramírez and stroked the home run to right-center. His 2nd home run of the season allowed the Blizzard to leap in front, 6-4.

"I had some good swings out there," said Cox.
