Black Squirrels Prevail, 5-3, Over Taos
|
The Tree City Black Squirrels topped the Taos Blizzard, 5-3, in Donnie Moore League action at The Igloo. The player of the game was Tree City pitcher and Dallas, Texas native Sixto Árias. Sherwin Aberin earned his 7th save in 8 chances. Tree City is now 55-56, Taos 49-60.
Ramon Abreu, who leads the DML with a .327 batting average, aided the Tree City cause with a run-scoring single in the top of the fifth. For the game, the catcher went 2 for 5 with 2 singles.
"Win or lose, we pick each other up in this clubhouse," Árias told the Tree City Herald.
