Victory Pushes Mustangs Record to 67-43
|
San Angelo pitcher Dan Garcia did his part in helping his team beat the St. Paul Saints, 7-2. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. The first-place Mustangs, at 67-43, now lead their division by 2½ games.
Barry Wirfel, who is rated as the 78th best prospect by BNN, helped out the San Angelo cause in the top of the seventh inning with a run-scoring single. For the game, the center fielder was 2-5 with 2 singles.
"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Wirfel told the San Angelo Bulletin.
