Galvan Hits 2 home runs in Gnats Win
|
Jose Galvan left his imprint on the 7-5 Nichols win against the Okanagan Lake Monsters. Galvan, who is tied for 8th in the LBL in triples with 4, hit 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice. Diego Gomez, who went 5 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 1 run on 4 hits, while walking 1 and striking out 6. His record now stands at 3-7. Suzunosuke Date was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 10 of 12 save opportunities.
Nichols grabbed the momentum in the top of the fifth, when Galvan, who is tied for 8th in the LBL in triples with 4, hit a 3-run home run. His 5th home run of the season put the Gnats out in front, 3-0.
"It was a solid team effort," said Galvan after the game.
The win boosts the Gnats to 41-60. The loss puts the Lake Monsters at 54-50.
