Clark goes 3-for-5, River Chiefs Move to 67-35
|
The Chippewa River Chiefs topped the San Angelo Mustangs by the score of 12-7, with the biggest share of the credit going to center fielder Marshall Clark. Clark went 3 for 5 with a double and 2 singles, while scoring 3 times and driving in 4 for the River Chiefs on the day. Chippewa reliever Kyle Larson picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Gabriel Mullin took the loss. Anastasio Gómez notched his 6th save in 6 chances.
Miguel Rangel, who is tied for 7th in the LBL in extra base hits with 30, aided the Chippewa cause with a run-scoring single in the top of the first. For the game, the second baseman was 2-4 with 2 singles and a walk.
"We were able to get some things going offensively," said Rangel.
The first-place River Chiefs, at 67-35, now lead their division by 11 games.
