Cyclones Win at Tree City, 6-1
|
Spirited fans at The Nut House greeted the Tree City Black Squirrels for their clash with the Coney Island Cyclones.
The Coney Island Cyclones topped the Tree City Black Squirrels, 6-1, in Lyman Bostock League action at The Nut House. The player of the game was Coney Island pitcher and Shanghai, China native Troy Hampton. Nate Corso earned save number 1.
The Cyclones got a big at-bat from designated hitter Taylor Allen. For the game, Allen was 1 for 3 with a double and 2 walks, while adding 3 RBI. In the top of the third, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 17th double of the season gave Coney Island a 2-0 lead.
"We'll grab a cold one tonight and go after another win tomorrow," Allen said.
The Cyclones bumped their record to 56-46 with this latest triumph.
