The Kings faced a stiff challenge from Nichols pitcher John Tetrick, but persevered to claim a win at The Royal Colosseum. The final score was 4-0. Tetrick went 6 innings and allowed 2 earned runs. Atlantic City reliever Pat Hebert picked up the win, upping his record to 8-0. John Tetrick absorbed the loss. The first-place Kings, at 54-46, now lead their division by 2 games.

The Kings got a big at-bat from designated hitter Héctor García. For the game, García was 1-4 with a double and a walk. In the bottom of the fifth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 16th double of the season gave Atlantic City a 1-0 lead.

"We played a good game and came out on top," said García.
