The Panthers grabbed a win, 1-0, at Franklin Mountains Field, overcoming a fine effort from Bel Air pitcher J.G. Richard. Richard went 8 innings and allowed 1 earned run. Ryan Hamblin picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 4-5. J.G. Richard was tagged with the loss. With the win, the Panthers improved to 41-56.
Charleston took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the eighth inning. With no one out, first baseman Gordon Buchanan hit a solo home run that set the crowd abuzz.
"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Buchanan told the Charleston Herald.
