Multi-HR Day for Martínez as Rhinos Overpower Hops, 8-3
The 2034 season began for the San Diego Hops with a loss to the Rubber City Rhinos at The Brew Stade. The final score was 8-3. Rubber City designated hitter Pedro Martínez earned top player honors.

Martínez had a game-changing home run in the top of the eighth. On a 1-1 fastball from Jim Phillips, he banged a 3-run home run to left, giving the Rhinos a 6-3 lead. It was the 2nd home run of the year for Martínez.

"Getting a lot of baserunners and getting some timely hits, it's a good combination," said Martínez.
