The game between Eugene and Chippewa is in the books, despite a little rain.
The Eugene Emeralds scored a 2-1 win versus the Chippewa River Chiefs at The Reservation. Eugene pitcher Jung-sang Lee nabbed top player honors in the tight contest. The Emeralds bumped their record to 49-48 with this latest triumph.
The Emeralds got a big at-bat from designated hitter Andrew Hovis. For the game, Hovis was 1 for 3 with a walk. In the top of the sixth, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 15th hit of the season gave Eugene a 1-0 lead.
"It was a tough night at the plate," said Chippewa manager Eric Rice.
