Great Day for Medina in Lake Monsters Win
|
The Okanagan Lake Monsters beat the Chippewa River Chiefs, 8-3, at The Reservation. Johnny Medina was recognized as player of the game for his performance. He went 4 for 4 with 4 singles and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. The 23-year old catcher was a menace to Chippewa all day. Nick Allen, who went 5 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 1 run on 4 hits, while walking 2 and striking out 5. His record now stands at 6-5. The Lake Monsters bumped their record to 51-45 with this latest triumph.
Nelson Rodríguez aided the Okanagan cause with a run-scoring walk in the top of the second. For the game, the center fielder was 2-4 with 2 doubles and a walk. He drove in 3 runs.
"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Medina said after the game.
