Vikings Prevail, 2-1, Over Winfield

Victoria and Winfield duked it out at The Barn and the Vikings came out victorious.
Victoria Vikings starter Tony Gutiérrez was definitely locked-in. He led his team to a win over the Winfield Warriors, 2-1. The winning pitcher was Gutiérrez, now 4-10. He tossed 8 innings of 3-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 4.
Fernando Vera aided the Victoria cause with a run-scoring single in the top of the fourth. For the game, the center fielder went 1 for 3.
"We had a good game plan," Gutiérrez said, "and we were able to execute it."
The Vikings saw their win-loss record go to 39-57. At the same time, the Warriors fell to 42-52.
