Victory Pushes Sting Record to 53-43
|
The Houston Sting dealt the Bel Air Princes a 6-3 loss at Woodland Park. Gabe Jones was the star on offense. He went 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. Fernando Rodriguez, credited with the save, is now 1 for 1 in save opportunities. The Sting bumped their record to 53-43 with this latest triumph.
The Sting got a big at-bat from shortstop Dennis Fischbach. For the game, Fischbach was 2-4 with a double, while adding 3 RBI. In the bottom of the third, with the bases loaded, he stroked a bases-clearing double. His 4th double of the season gave Houston a 3-0 lead.
In postgame comments to the Houston Bulletin, Fischbach said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
