Taos starter Javier Polanco pitched effectively against the West Virginia Dancin' Outlaws at Penlee Park. The left-hander led his team to a 1-0 win. Francisco Encarnación picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 1-0. John Swope was tagged with the loss. Taos is now 41-51, West Virginia 47-44.

A crucial at-bat came with a runner on 2nd and two out in the top of the seventh inning. That's when right fielder Ricardo Gómez got hit by a pitch. The Blizzard went on to win.

"In baseball, you have your ups and downs," said West Virginia manager Keith Irwin. "You just try to stay level-headed the whole time."
