Maciel Delivers Clutch At-Bat for Westside in Walk-Off Win
|
Tony Maciel knocked in 3 runs to help Westside beat Tree City, 6-4. The left fielder collected 1 single, 1 double, and 1 home run. Kasey Vanderberg got credit for the win, improving to 3-2. He allowed no runs on no hits in 2 innings. With the win, Westside has a record of 53-41. Tree City falls to 48-47.
Maciel had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the ninth. On a 1-1 cutter from Sherwin Aberin, he banged a 3-run home run to right-center, giving the Road Warriors a 6-4 lead. It was the 17th home run of the year for Maciel.
"I'm glad I could get it done when the game was in the balance," Maciel said in his postgame press conference.
