Emeralds Win at Tree City, 6-2
|
Tree City got a terrific performance from pitcher Doug Fox, but it wasn't enough to beat the Eugene Emeralds. Eugene won the The Nut House contest, 6-2. Fox was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He threw 5 innings of 3-hit ball. With the win, Eugene goes to 46-47, while the Black Squirrels fall to 48-46.
Vinnie Errichiello helped out the Eugene cause in the top of the sixth inning with a run-scoring triple. For the game, the second baseman went 1-3 with a triple and a walk, while scoring 2 times.
"We'll relax tonight and get back after it tomorrow," Errichiello said after the game.
