The Brooklyn Black Knights and Santa Fe Fuego completed their game despite the rain.
The Brooklyn Black Knights took Santa Fe pitcher Mehmood Dar's best shot and still were able to claim a win at The Fire House. The final score had Brooklyn getting past the Fuego, 6-5. Dar went 7 innings and allowed 3 earned runs, striking out 8. The Black Knights bumped their record to 31-25 with this latest triumph.
The Black Knights got a big at-bat from shortstop Tony Gómez. For the game, Gómez went 1-1 with a home run. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. In the top of the ninth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 1st home run of the season gave Brooklyn a 6-5 lead.
"We take it day by day here," said Gómez, "and today was a good one for us."
